OBS Real-Time Production Standard¶
Stage: Produce
Score: 5
Evidence: internal data
What It Is¶
A standard for using OBS or equivalent live production software to create show-style rough edits during or immediately around recording.
Best For¶
- Podcasts with video.
- Live shows.
- Webinars.
- Virtual event sessions.
- Programs that need fast turnaround.
Why It Works¶
Real-time production moves production decisions upstream. Lower thirds, titles, overlays, transitions, intro/outro moments, and layout choices happen before the asset reaches final mastering.
This reduces post-production overhead and raises the quality floor.
Quality Bar¶
The rough edit should already feel like a produced show before final mastering begins.
When Not To Use¶
Avoid heavy real-time production when the session is exploratory, the customer only needs raw archival capture, or the production team cannot monitor quality live.
